Admission to the GIPE PhD Program will be based on the entrance examination conducted by GIPE. M.phil degree holders and UGC-NET/JRF/SET qualifiers will be Exempted from the Written Exam.

Exemption from the Written Test-

  • M.Phil Degree from a recognised University (Not through Distance Education).
  • Qualified at the UGC-NET/JRF/SLET/teacher fellowship holders.

Qualified candidates of the Written Test and candidates who are exempted from the Written Test shall be required to appear for an interview to present/discuss their research proposal/area of interest.

  • The merit list will have the names of admitted students with Provisional Registration.
  • Provisional Registration shall be confirmed upon successful completion of the prescribed pre-Ph.D course work.
