For admission to the B.E program, the students must prove their eligibility by fulfilling certain requirements. The following section briefly discusses those requirements:

Eligibility Criteria 

• Admission to first year is offered to students who have passed 2 years Pre-University Examination (Science) conducted by Karnataka State Pre-University Board. Or 
• 10 + 2 of the Central Board (CBSE/ICSE) with PCM along with English as a subject of study. Or 
• Students having passed 3 years of Diploma exam, recognized by VTU.
• Candidates other than those from Karnataka are required to obtain a mandatory Eligibility Certificate from VTU to be eligible for admissions.

Admission Process

In order to be eligible for B.E. admissions, students must qualify either K-CET/JEE Mains. The following section throws light upon CET along with JEE Mains, with their requirements.

K-CET 2022 Applications

Karnataka Common Entrance Test is taken by those students who wish to apply for B.Tech or BE. The application fee is made through a challan, students residing outside Karnataka are required to pay INR 750. The following section gives details for KCET application registration and submission.

• The applicants must register first as a new user by filling in the required fields to generate a new user id and password. 
• New credentials can be generated if applicants have a PUC number.

• Applicants can submit the information to upload their scanned documents, pay the fee and submit the application.

JEE Mains Application Requirements

The application fee for taking this exam varies with the type of candidature. The application fee for the general category is INR 325. The following section throws light on the requirements and the process of registration for JEE Mains.

Documents Required

• Scanned and recent photograph coloured or black/white (but clear contrast) JPG/JPEG format. Size should be between 10 kb to 200 kb.
• Scanned signature in JPG/JPEG format. Size should be between 4 kb to 30 kb.
• Application forms with unclear photographs will be rejected. 

How to Register?

• Visit the official website of JEE Main and click on “Fill Online Application Form”.
• Register by giving your personal details, to generate a user id and password.
• The application number will be generated after submitting the details for registration.
• The form requires personal details, address, and mobile number.
• You can set your security question and password to access the application for the future.
• Submit the application form by logging in with the same user id and password that you had set.

Eligibility Criteria

Students must score at least 50% in B.E./B.Tech degree (45% for backward classes of Karnataka).

Also students who qualify the GATE exam will be exempted from appearing for PGCET exam.

Admission Process

Students must appear either for GATE or PGCET. The admission process is as follows:

KPGCET

Karnataka Postgraduate Common Entrance Test is taken by those students who wish to apply for MTech., MBA or MCA. The application fee for the general category is INR 650. The following section gives the necessary details for KPGCET.

Documents Required

• Mark sheet of 10th and 12th
• Scanned copy of candidate’s recent passport-sized photograph 
• Candidate’s signature 
• Signature of candidate’s parent/guardian.
• Scanned copy of the candidate’s left thumb impression

• Finally, the applicants should upload their scanned documents, accept the declaration, pay the fee and submit the application.

GATE Application Requirements

A GATE score is required by those students who are willing to apply for a master’s or Ph.D. program. The section below throws light upon the list of documents required and where an applicant can apply for the entrance.

How to Apply?

The applications for GATE are accepted through the official website of GOAPS. Where the applicant must register first to create a new registration using one unique email id. 

Documents Required

• Scanned photograph and signature 
• Valid Photo ID (Aadhaar Card/Passport/Driving License/PAN Card/Voter ID/College ID/Employee Identification Card/Notarized Affidavit with Photo, Signature, Date of Birth and Residential Address).
• Degree Certificate/Provisional Certificate/Course Completion Certificate.
• Copy of mark sheet of V /VI /VII semester.
• Final year students must submit Provisional Certificate Letter as per format issued by the Home of Institute/Dean/Registrar/Head of Dept.
• Candidates in the final year of AMIE have to submit their mark sheet for Section A of AMIE in case of professional equivalent qualifications.
• Caste Certificate/Disability or PwD Certificate (if applicable).
• Candidates pursuing a higher degree or masters have to submit the qualifying degree certificate.
