Dr. YSR National Institute of Tourism and Hospitality Management (NITHM) Hyderabad Admission 2023: Aptitude test, Eligibility

Dr. YSR National Institute of Tourism and Hospitality Management (NITHM) offers Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Tourism & Hospitality and Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) in Hospitality & Hotel Administration. BBA program is offered for a duration of four years while the B.Sc program is of three years duration.

Candidates who have passed 10+2 level or equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate are eligible for BBA program. However, the applicants are required to appear in Undergraduate Admission Test (UGAT) conducted by All India Management Association (AIMA) or Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) conducted by National Council for Hotel Management or Telangana State Engineering, Agriculture & Medical Common Entrance Test (TS EAMCET). The shortlisted candidates, on the basis of performance in entrance tests, will be called for Interview at NITHM campus.             

Admission in B.Sc programme is done on the basis of marks scored in Joint Entrance Test (JEE) conducted by National Council for Hotel Management. The shortlisted candidates, on the basis of performance in JEE, will be called for Interview at NITHM campus.

Key points:

• Candidates have to score a minimum of 50% marks in the previous qualifying examination in order to be eligible for the BBA program.
• For B.Sc, candidates must have passed in the 10+2 level or senior secondary examination with English as a subject.
• A valid score card in UGAT/ JEE or TS EAMCET is mandatory to apply for any of the UG programs.

At the PG level, Dr YSR National Institute of Tourism and Hospitality Management (NITHM) offers Master of Business Administration (MBA) program in Tourism & Hospitality, and Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) in Tourism Management.

Admission to the PG courses is strictly made on the basis of merit. Students who have completed an Undergraduate Degree in relevant discipline with 50% aggregate in marks are eligible for admission. 

The aspirants must have appeared for any of the recognized aptitude tests such as MAT or TS ICET or ATMA or Common Admission Test (CAT). The final selection would be on the basis of score in the National level examination and performance in Group Discussion followed by Personal Interview.

• 10% seats are reserved for industry sponsored candidates/ Entrepreneurs.
• 15% seats are reserved for Foreign students
• Some seats are reserved for BC candidates and weightage will be given to distinction in Sports/ NCC/ Cultural activities.

Key Points:

• The minimum required marks in the qualifying degree examination is 50%.
• 15% marks relaxation for the SC candidates.
• 7.5% marks relaxation for the ST candidates.
• 3% marks relaxation for the differently abled candidates.
• Candidates must hold a valid CAT/ MAT/ ATMA/ TS ICET score card to apply.
