Government College for Women - [GCW], Jammu

Government College for Women (GCW), Jammu, affiliated to University of Jammu was established in September 1969 by the Government of Jammu and Kashmir in response to the growing demand for women education in Jammu. The aim of the college is to promote quality education through continuous effort, conviction and commitment & to develop all round social personalities through a wide variety of curricular and co-curricular activities. The College at present imparts instructions in streams like Medical and Non-Medical, Bachelor of Science Home Science, Humanities and vocational courses in three years Degree Course.

The College has highly qualified and competent faculty. It is the prime target of the teaching faculty to inculcate in the students strong Intellectual, Moral, Physical and Aesthetic attitudes and ideals. he Science Laboratory facilities have been upgraded. The College has a well-developed sports field. The air conditioned College Auditorium is one of the best of its kinds in the State.
