Kongunadu College of Engineering and Technology is a UGC-recognized, ISO 9001:2015 certified autonomous college in Tiruchirappalli. Established in 2007, it has been accredited by the NBA, and has received a ‘B++’ grade from NAAC. KCET has a learned faculty. It has 31 PhD holders among a total of 134 faculty members.
KCET offers nine specializations across three courses, namely, B.Tech, M.Tech and PhD. For admission to B.Tech, a candidate needs to have passed 10+2 with PCM with 50% marks. Furthermore, for selection, they must go for TNEA counselling.
M.Tech-aspiring students need a B.Tech degree in the relevant field. They need to go for TANCET counselling for final selection.
KCET has an excellent placement record. This year, it has received 667 placement offers and placed 562 students. There have been more than 50 on-campus drives. Among the recruiters, which include the likes of Infoview, HP, Sutherland and Tech Mahindra, 38 belong to the core and IT industries. The highest package offered was 1.2 million INR per year.

Eligibility Criteria
- The candidate should have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
- The candidates should have scored at least 50% marks.
Selection Criteria
- TNEA scores will be announced based on performance in the 10+2 final examination.
- The candidate has to go for TNEA counselling for final selection.
How to Apply for TNEA?
- Visit the Anna University website and fill out the registration form for TNEA.
- A fee will be charged, which has to be paid online.
- Fill out the application with care. Incorrect or incomplete data will result in the candidate’s application being rejected.
- Take out a printout of the application form and send a copy to the Director of Admissions of Anna University.
- After the merit list is declared, candidates have to download the counselling call letter and visit the counselling venue with the necessary documents and a demand draft of 5,000 INR.
- After all processes are completed, an allotment order will be handed to the applicant. At this stage, the counselling fee has to be paid.
- The candidate has to report to their college and submit the allotment order to confirm their admission.

How to apply for TANCET?
- Visit the website of Anna University.
- Click on ‘TANCET Registration’.
- Enter your name, date of birth, email ID and password to generate ID and password.
- Log in again. This time, fill out the TANCET Application Form
- Upload a recent coloured passport size photograph.
- A fee of 600 INR (300 for SC/ST belonging to Tamil Nadu) will be charged, which can only be paid online.
- After submitting the form, note down the application number that is auto-generated.
