Jawaharlal Nehru National College of Engineering (JNNCE) Shimoga Admission 2024: Placement, Cutoff, Fees Structure

Jawaharlal Nehru National College of Engineering offers four-year B.E. in seven specializations. Candidates who have passed 10+2 in Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry (Biology/ Biotechnology/ Electronics/ Biology) with minimum 45% aggregate marks (40% for SC/ ST/ OBC category candidates) are considered eligible to get admission in B.E. course.

Selection of the candidates for admission is done on the basis of their merit in Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA).

Key Facts:

• 45% of the seats under the Government Quota is filled through KCET
• 30% of the total seats are filled through COMEDK-UGET conducted by COMEDK.
• 25% seats are allotted by the college Management under the Management Quota on the basis of candidate’s merit in the qualifying examination and test.
• 5% of extra seats on the total intake is filled under the Supernumerary Quota.

JNNCE Shimoga has two-year M.Tech course in seven specializations in its academic curriculum.

Applicants who hold B.E./B.Tech Degree in any relevant discipline from AICTE approved University are eligible to get admission into the M.Tech course.

Admission of the candidates is done on the basis of their merit in Post Graduate Common Entrance Test (PGCET) conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) or based on their valid GATE score.

Key Points for M.Tech Admission:

• 80% of the total seats fall under the Government Quota and 20% falls under the Management Quota.
• Both types of seats are filled on the basis of candidate’s merit in KEA-PGCET or through applicant’s GATE score.

The college offers MBA and MCA to candidates who have completed Graduation in any discipline with at least 50% marks (45% in the case of SC/ ST/ OBC categories) from a recognized University are eligible to apply for admission. However, for MCA it is mandatory for applicants to have studied Mathematics or Statistics at 10+2 or graduation Level.

Only those applicants are shortlisted to give admission in MCA course who have qualified Karnataka-PGCET. Selection of candidates to MBA is based on their merit in KMAT (Karnataka Management Aptitude Test)/ CMAT/ PGCET.

Key Points:

• Candidates can also take admission into MCA Lateral Entry course through Karnataka-PGCET conducted in the month of July. 
• KMAT is a state level entrance test conducted by Karnataka Private Post Graduate Colleges Association (KPPGCA) in the month of July every year.
• KEA conducts PGCET at the state level in the month of July and the test is of 100 marks and on qualifying the examination candidates gets admission into the 1^st year of MBA program.
