There is no such thing as placement strategy but talking of placements, very few students of the civil branch are interested in it.

Most of the students go for IES or State government jobs.
The placement of core companies in campus placement do not prefer girls because of the security issues and therefore girls mostly prefer IT companies during placements.
In campus placement companies visit depends upon the concerned branches TPO. Students have to take place in soft companies. Many of them are placed in companies like IBM & TCS.

India is a developing country and there is a huge requirement for Civil Engineers and will be in the coming future for Infrastructure development. So, it would be good, just stay focused on the core subject.
