Agurchand Manmull Jain College (Evening College), Chennai was established in 1952 and is running under the Shri Shewetambar Stanakwasi Jain Educational Society. AMJC celebrated its Silver Jubilee in 1977 and the Golden Jubilee in 2002. The college was started as a college for men, in 2003 it was upgraded into a Co-educational institution. The college is affiliated to University of Madras and Recognized by Govt. as a Minority Institution. It offers undergraduate and postgraduate Degree programs in Arts, Science and Commerce fields. The programmes are approved by University Grants Commission (UGC).

AMJC organizes many co-curricular activities like sports, NCC and NSS to increase the physical strength of the students. The aim of the college is to create the right atmosphere that will enable students to realize their potentials and to increase the knowledge. It also provide affordable education to the students. The college has a placement cell that provides proper guidance to the students that helps them in their placements.
