Army Institute of Nursing, Guwahati was established in the year 2006 under the aegis of Army Welfare Education Society. The institute aims to impart quality education to the wards of serving and ex-servicemen of Indian Army and other Defence forces. As a welfare measure, 10% seats are reserved for the civilian students (girls) who are domicile of seven North East States. The Institute is recognized by Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi and Assam Nurses Midwives’ and Health Visitors’ Council, Assam and is affiliated to the Srimanta Sankardeva University of Health Sciences, Assam. Army Institute of Nursing offers B.Sc and M.Sc course in Nursing with four disciplines.
- The admission is exclusively open for the female wards/ wives of serving and retired defence force personnel including widows of such personnel.
- Civilian female students, married/unmarried who are domicile of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland and Tripura are also eligible.
- Applicants of B.Sc. and M.Sc. must have passed the respective qualifying exams in the very first attempts.
- The minimum eligibility for B.Sc. is 10+2 examination with PCB and English with minimum 50% marks.
- Admission to the B.Sc. course is on the basis of Common Written Test conducted by AWES (CWAT).
- For admission to M.Sc. course entrance test is conducted by the AIN called as PGWAT.
- The minimum eligibility for M.Sc. is B.Sc. (Nursing)/ B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing/ Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing with minimum 55% marks in aggregate.
- Both the exam is conducted offline and consists of a total of 100 questions.

Army Institute of Nursing B.Sc Course Admission 2023
The Institute offers four-year degree course of Bachelor of Science in Nursing. The admission is exclusively for the female wards of serving (minimum ten-year of service) / wards of retired Army personnel including widows of such personnel/serving Army Personnel/ wards of ex-Army personnel who have taken discharge/ release after ten-year of service.
Candidate must have passed 10+2 examination in the very first attempt with a minimum of 50% marks each in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English.
Those who have repeated the 10+2 or have given supplementary examination in any subject or have passed XII as private students or from the open board are not eligible.
Admission is granted on the basis of the Common Written Admission Test (CWAT) conducted by AWES, New Delhi. The test paper will consist of 100 multiple choice questions which are to be done in two hours. The questions shall be generally based on the CBSE syllabus for the class of HSC.

Army Institute of Nursing M.Sc. Course Admission 2023
Army Institute of Nursing conducts two-year M.Sc. Nursing course. The degree of this course is awarded by Srimanta Sankardeva University of Health Sciences, Assam.
The candidate should have passed B.Sc. Nursing/ B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing/ Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing in the first attempt with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate from an institution recognized by Indian Nursing Council.
Only wards of Army personnel or Wards of defence personnel of other forces and categories like Army Medical Corps Officers/ Army Dental Corps/ Navy / Airforce/ MNS/ APS/ TA Personnel are eligible provided their father/ Mother/ Guardian has completed at least 10 years of service.
Selection to the M.Sc. course is on the basis of Written Admission Test (PG-WAT) conducted by AIN, Guwahati under the aegis of HQ AWES. The admission is strictly on merit ranking, based on marks obtained in PG WAT.
Selection of candidates into a particular specialty in M.Sc. nursing will be based on the results of entrance examination and counselling.

Key Points:
- Candidates applying must be a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife with Assam Nurses' Midwives' & Health Visitors' Council.
- Applicant should have minimum one-year work experience after registration with state nursing council as a registered nurse/ registered midwife nurse.
- The entrance exam consists two parts A and B. Total questions asked is 100 and the duration of the exam is 100 minutes.
