Indira Gandhi Institute of Child Health is a premier organization promoting tertiary level child health care services. The college is to promote, establish, maintain and develop an Institute for child Health with a view to provide treatment and advanced care to children and to encourage and promote research and training in child health and to promote, establish, maintain and develop an Institute for child health with a view to provide treatment and advanced care to children and to encourage and promote research and training in child health. The main objectives of the institute are to provide comprehensive and quality care to pediatric patients and training of candidates in the specialty of pediatrics and in the superspeciality of pediatric surgery. The Institute has two main constitutional bodies, namely the general body and governing council. The general body formulates overall policies while the governing council is responsible for the management and administration of the Institute.
