Admission Guidelines

Selection of the candidate to the integrated Ph.D programmes is done on the basis of entrance examination (70%) and viva-voice (30%), both conducted by the university.

Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology offers 6 disciplines of the Ph.D. degree program in the field of Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Genomics, Developmental Biology, Epigenetics, Nanobiology, Biology of Macromolecules, etc.

Candidates are selected based on marks obtained in the JGEEBILS entrance exam.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants with a Master's degree in any branch of science or a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Medicine or Pharmacy.
Applicants having a valid National level fellowship (JRF/SRF of various funding agencies, e.g., CSIR, UGC, DBT, ICMR, etc.), DST-INSPIRE, or other equivalent fellowship.
Candidates qualified in the GATE/GPAT examination with a minimum of 85 percentile may also apply.

Selection Process

Applications will be shortlisted online and the eligible candidates will be called for a computer based written test at one of their preferred centers among the 19 test centers.
Applicants qualifying in the written test and having a valid fellowship for pursuing a Ph.D. will be shortlisted to appear for an interview at the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology.
Applicants qualifying both preliminary exams and the final interview will be selected for pursuing a Ph.D. at CCMB.
