BJMC Pune Admission 2024: Dates, Courses, Eligibility, Selection Criteria, Application Process

Candidates who are seeking admission in the field of Medical Science may pursue MBBS, BPMT, or B.Sc. Nursing offered by the college. The intake capacity of MBBS, BPMT, and B.Sc. is 200, 92, and 50 respectively.

The students who have studied and passed 10+2 level or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Biology are eligible to seek admission in these courses. However, the eligible candidates need to appear in NEET UG and secure a valid rank to participate in the counselling process conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).

Key points:

• 15% of the seats are reserved for the candidates coming from the counselling by Directorate General of Health Sciences.
• Out of the remaining seats, 30% is for State level and 70% for Development Board Area.

At postgraduate level, the college provides three-year education in different specializations of MD and MS. To be eligible to take admission, candidate must secure MBBS degree from a recognized university or institution and must have completed one-year of rotational internship prior to the admission.

Selection to various MS and MD specializations is done on the basis of marks scored in National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET PG) conducted by the National Board of Examinations.

Byramjee Jeejeebhoy Government Medical College also offers three-year super specialty courses viz. Doctorate of Medicine (DM) and Master of Chirurgiae (M.Ch.) in Cardiothoracic Surgery.

Candidates who have passed MD or MS in relevant discipline are eligible to take part in the admission process. However, the eligible candidates will have to appear in NEET-SS conducted by Indian Medical Council.

Note: Candidates having Medical Council registration from any state other than Maharashtra must register with Maharashtra Medical Council (MMC) / MCI after selection and joining to Super specialty course.

Apart from the other Medical courses, the college also offers one-year PG Diploma in Maternal and Child Health, and Geriatric Medicine. Candidates who want to pursue PG Diploma in the college must have master’s degree in the relevant discipline. Admission to PG Diploma courses is done on the basis of marks scored in National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET PG).
