  • By taking carefully designed courses with the right mix of computing and statistics, you gain the database skills you need to house, extract, manipulate and maintain data.
  • The industry standard statistical software environments SAS and R are used throughout.
  • Students must complete 11 courses, for a total of 34 or 35 credits.
  • The certificate can be earned in 14 months, beginning in May and finishing at the end of June the following year.
  • Co-op students must complete 10 courses as well as a four-month Co-op work term in the Summer semester directly before their final academic semester.The certificate with Co-op option can be earned in about 18 months, beginning in July and finishing in December of the following year
  • In order to satisfy the requirements of the Data Analysis Post-Baccalaureate certificate (Co-op option), students must complete two four-month semesters of academic study (9 credits each), followed by a four-month Co-op work term (typically during a Summer semester), followed by one more semester of academic study (9 credits)
  • To be eligible to graduate, students must achieve a minimum GPA of 2.00 on all 11 courses (34-35 credits) required to complete the program.
  • Experienced data analysts with strong leadership and business skills may progress to become senior or lead analysts, managers, chief information officers, or consultants.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Following are the requirements for this program:

  • High school graduation (equivalent to Canadian grade 12 graduation)
  • No entry from high school. Completion of a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution; one of COMP 150, COMP 152, COMP 155 (COMP 155 recommended). Must meet pre-requisite for STAT 106 which requires Math 12 C.
