I always dreamed of coming to Canada and UBC was my first choice for engineering, considering the campus, ranking, and the Vancouver weather as compared to the rest of Canada.
Course Curriculum
The courses get very hectic as soon as you start. There is some time to sit back and relax, but most of the time there will be loads of work to keep you on your toes. The curriculum seems very up-to-date. We were supposed to go on an industry trip that has been called off due to COVID-19, but we hope we can go once school reopens for 4th year.
Exams
I had to submit my score, answer questions on the application, and also teacher recommendations. I did not have an interview or tests.
Placement
You can attend career fairs particularly for CHBE or even go to career fairs for all streams in engineering to look for jobs. I haven't dived into this in-depth yet since I plan on doing a post-grad degree before getting a job.
Internship
I have just applied for co-op this year.
Fees
About $160,000 (close to $40,000 per year)
Scholarship
No, I didn't get any scholarship.
Faculty
Dr. Potvin and Dr. Verrett are my two favorite professors from my faculty, but the professors overall are very approachable.
Hostel
I have been staying on campus since the first year. During the first year, I had a single room with common washrooms. I then opted for Fraser Hall, which is a comparatively older residence on campus but I have a very sunny room, which covers up for everything else!
