I chose UBC for its hands-on experience. Since it allows a student to really choose what they want to study. I was able to be part of a design team since the first year that allowed me a lot of insight into engineering and how the future of engineering looks like.

Course Curriculum

8

It has a very challenging course curriculum but that keeps students busy and makes students work harder in order to understand the concepts.

Exams

I submitted LORs from one English teacher, Math teacher, and sports teacher since I was part of the school cricket team to show all-round achievement. The SoP was based on my interest in engineering and how a degree could make me a helping hand in the changing world. I had a round of interviews with Princeton University. In my opinion, to save such an interview it is very important to be professional but at the same time try to match energies with the interviewer on a human level to be able to understand what he's looking for. And ask quite a few questions to the interviewer also.

Placement

8

There are no on campus placements at UBC, but opting for co-op is a very good option, as it allows the companies to absorb you by the time of graduation. Also, it allows you to graduate with 16-20 months of work experience.

Internship

I have not yet.

Events

Campus life at UBC is very involved, it allows students to be themselves and it has a very good community and plenty of events for people of different interests to take part in.
