Sav Review at The University Of British Columbia [UBC], Vancouver | Collegedunia

my learning experience in University of British Columbia.

S

Good Scholarship, esteemed university.

Course Curriculum :

It's hard for me to say since I've just completed my first year so far, but I hear about the co-op programs which provide industry experience, which is pretty cool.

Exams :

Had to submit an SoP and something I would say was close to a resume. The trick is to be true, instead of writing stuff you think they want to hear. Students generally do a lot of effort in doing things that would look good on a CV, rather than just cultivate your interests naturally and write that down. Everyone has a unique breadth of interests and that's what they want to hear. No. I got admitted just based on my essays and grades.

Placement :

Still in second year, so there?s not much to say.

Events :

The libraries, in particular, are great, loved studying there in the first year.

Fees :

50k and 60k (CAD)

Scholarship :

Yes, IMES (80k CAD). It's an entrance scholarship. No special application required.

Faculty :

Again, I just finalized my major and have not interacted as much with the faculty, but have heard good things about them.

Hostel :

Opted for accommodation. Got a shared room, which was nice. Had a communal bathroom and kitchen area. The more expensive housing options come with a private bathroom.
