This college is in the area I grew up, my family all lives here which gives me extra support. It also offered a great program that I was interested in. The college is also fairly new which is good. There is also a lot of support within the college that was very beneficial for me.
Course Curriculum
I love the bands on experience in the program. There is a lot of group work in my program, sometimes it can be a challenge working in groups. I like the opportunity that we have with placements too, we have a variety of choices to choose from.
Placement
There is a lot of different placement choices we can choose from. Allowing us three different placements is very beneficial so we can get an understanding of what we want our future careers to be. I've had the opportunity to be placed in totally different job fields and from the experience, I now have an understanding of what I want to do when I graduate.
Fees
OSAP and bursaries. I also live on my own so I have to pay for rent, food and transportation costs.
Scholarship
I have applied and received OSAP for all the years of my program. I have also applied for bursaries and have won two.
Examination Structure
There are no exams in my program. Instead of exams, we have projects and tests that are worth a lot more of our grade. I feel that this process is successful in my program because a lot of the information we are learning is a more hands-on experience and writing reports.
Faculty
We have recently had new faculty changes which personally is hard for me. Change with faculty is hard because it's difficult to know what the faculty wants when it comes to projects and assignments in the courses.
