I chose this particular college because of its proximity to my hometown in Guelph. Conestoga also has a great nursing program with many hands-on opportunities as well as good professors and nursing classes and courses.
Course Curriculum
I believe the course curriculum is good for the nursing program as it provides many opportunities in terms of practice and preparation for testing and also it is very informative and provides placement opportunities for nursing students to apply their skills learned in school.
Placement
The placements are good. 1 st year nursing starts with volunteer work and then 2nd-4th year offers hospital placements which are great to practice knowledge and skills as a nursing student. The placements are well organized.
Fees
I paid for my McMaster tuition and bought textbooks mostly from the bookstore. I am able to use the facilities such as the gym.
Scholarship
OSAP provided me loans and grants which came to a total of over $10000 to help cover my expenses for school.
Examination Structure
Exams are usually multiple choice and test on material learned throughout the semester properly. There are also midterms and practical exams to help us apply our theory and practice throughout the semester.
Faculty
I believe the college faculty is very approachable and knowledgeable. They provide support and learning opportunities. I feel they prepare us well for practice and testing.
