The university is Close to home, the admission process involves writing about volunteer and work experiences, extra-curricular activities. I had to write 2 essays. I graduated high school with an average above 95%. This was the only school I applied to as I knew I would get in and I planned to transfer out after a year or two.

Course Curriculum

9

The required courses for the first years in my program make sense, as you need them to successfully move onwards in the path of science.

Exams

I didn?t have to take any exams to get into this specific program.I chose it because I wanted to go into the sciences. This program is 2 years and is 60 credits, and after you complete it you can transfer those credits to another school such as UBC or SFU and continue your education there as a third year.

Placement

5

I don?t have much insight on this. I don?t know about any visiting companies, how many students get jobs after they graduate or job roles offered. Most students do transfer to another school after attending this one, though.

Internship

I don't know about internship opportunities, but you can get a job on campus working at one of the foodservice counters, like the Tim Hortons or Subway. At the start of the semester, they also hire students to work in the bookstore.

Fees

The cost of my tuition for 2 terms and 9 classes was around six thousand dollars.

Scholarship

I won a memorial scholarship valued at around two thousand dollars. I had to write an essay for it. I did not apply for any student loans as I have an RESP and I did not want to go into unnecessary debts as a result of taking out student loans.

Examination Structure

Exams are 2 or 3 hours depending on the course. Midterms are in class. Final exams take place in the gym outside of class time and generally don?t start very late at night. In the summer semester, both midterms and finals take place in class.

Faculty

10

The Faculty-student ratio is excellent; class size is very small compared to other schools, usually, each class has 30-35 students and labs have around 15. There are no TAs so professors do all the teaching and grading and are easy to communicate with.

Hostel

7

I lived at home off-campus because my parents live very close to the school and the bus ride is only thirty minutes. I can also walk to school from one of my parents' houses and that also takes around thirty minutes.
