In my case, I chose Capilano University to get transfer credits towards another institution since I have heard good things about their transfer program to other British Columbia universities, colleges.

Course Curriculum

10

I think the courses are offered are pretty great! Very interesting and varied to the interests of each person and their program requirements. The misconception that smaller universities and colleges have easier courses is not true at all since the full credits can be transferred where applicable.

Exams

No exams were required for the program which I applied for. Just the completion of a high school level diploma.

Placement

7

Throughout campus, there are plenty of opportunities to get involved. I have gotten involved with many activities, even working a part-time position as a Student Ambassador. Since the university is growing rapidly, there is more and more promotion of opportunities to get involved.

Internship

I know that Capilano University does offer a couple of study abroad programs although I have not been involved with this directly. In terms of the internship, I haven't heard much about them so I am not sure the university even offers opportunities like that.

Events

8

Capilano University has been growing though the past years rapidly. Although big events don't happen very often, usually once a semester, they are very organized and fun to be part of them. The Capilano Student Union does a great job organizing these events and progressively making them better.

Fees

Fees depend on the credits you take depending on the course load chosen it transfers to a certain amount of money needed to pay. Student fees are also mandatory and they include the u-pass and medical coverage.

Scholarship

During my process, I didn't ask for any scholarships or bursaries although there is a lot of opportunities for students with different criteria.

Examination Structure

Every final exam is different depending on the class. Some classes don't even have final exams and instead, they have final projects or essays. Generally, final exams are cumulative although not all of them. Even when final exams are nerve-racking, the professors will give you plenty of resources to do well on them.

Faculty

10

The faculty at Capilano University is pretty great. They are all very dedicated to teaching and helping students succeed. Smaller size classes help a lot too since you as a student can get to know the professors.

Hostel

6

For myself, I live at home with but Capilano University does have a residence available for students. Residence available throughout the semester and has different options for food and accommodation. Residence also gives the opportunity for new students to get to know people and get involved in events.
