My other two real siblings were part of Humber and they always appreciated what the college had to offer. Both of them were able to secure reasonably good jobs after completing their respective programs. On the other hand, it didn't make sense to spend absurd amounts of money on a university degree whereas I can learn the same skillset here and apply it in practical work-life settings before Degree holders. The last reason was how Humber has a really strong business administration program
Course Curriculum
The first year is like learning how to walk. So all the stuff available in business is added to the mix and most of it is like general stuff, Content identical to the one taught to someone in 12th grade Commerce in India. After that, each student takes a step toward what they wanna work as in business by choosing a major. With the onset of the second year, courses are set depending on the major one will pick. Fun, informative and relevant course work in general.
Exams
All the additional testing parameters listed above are not required. A simple IELTS would make do. Make sure to try and score 6.5 or above, anything less than that and the candidate would have to pay and reappear. My scores:- 7.5 Overall
Placement
The salary in Finance comes in the top 10% income group in the country at about 60000 CAD a year. Each multinational employs someone with knowledge in finance since companies need their budgets made and their money managed. People often take the services of consultants to learn how and where to invest their money by financial consultants, so with good experience, people associated to finance can earn good money.
Events
Humber honestly has a great vibe to it in general. I was able to connect with tons of people on a personal basis. I just have to attend college 3-4 days a week, so I get to work, party, or take out time for my club ( debate club ) chores. In general, the campus is a sight to see as Christmas or Halloween approaches. Canada is also a hub for winter sports, so skiing and ice hockey is big in the region specifically in Ontario. We also get to enjoy coffee since we have a Tim Hortons on campus with a Subway directly adjacent to it.
Scholarship
No I wasn't entitled to any.
Faculty
I am so grateful to have professors who actually care about what I do. The Canadian System doesn't rely on spoon-feeding like the Indian One and some Canadian professors at other colleges will usually just give assignments and be done with them. That is not the case here at Humber, some of my professors do assure me that if I have any doubts, it's cleared before they proceed further.
Hostel
The best option to save up on money and own a good place is through living on sharing basis. I share my condo with 2 other people and we end up covering all the utilities along with WiFi and electricity. It's a 12 min commute by bus and pays 535 CAD each. We have a fully furnished kitchen, bedrooms, and living room.
