Visa Application Process for International Students
After the student is selected for admission, the student has to apply for and receive a Canada study permit from the IRCC (Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada) and also obtain a work permit if his/her selected program specifies so.
- Students are advised to apply for their study permit at least 8 weeks prior to the start date of their program.
- Students are advised by the institute to contact a VAC (Visa Application Centre) of their choice to assist in the process of visa application.
- VACs charge a fee for the processing of documents and take responsibility for safe delivery of an applicant’s passport, application and biometric information to the Government of Canada.
- Additional documents: Transcript(s), scores of any standardized tests taken, financial evidence showing sufficient funds.
Gerald Schwartz School of Business Undergraduate Admissions
Gerald Schwartz School of Business offers admission to international students to study in Canada in 15 undergraduate business courses. Following are some conditions that are to be met as per the institution’s rules and procedures:
- For high school students, the minimum requirements include an overall average of 70% in Grade 12, with no marks below 65% in each of the required subjects. (Admissions to limited enrolment programs are competitive, thus, minimum grade requirements are subject to change)
- They are required to pay 100 CAD as a confirmation deposit, which will be later credited as part of the tuition fee.

- Apply for Scholarships simultaneously. The applicant will be automatically assessed for StFX entrance scholarships if your application and first semester Grade 12 transcripts are received prior to March 2.
If these conditions are not met, the university holds a right to revoke your admissions. If admission is revoked after registration, course enrolments will be canceled. International students can send their documents via email, fax or mail. In order to be eligible for Entrance Scholarships, the prospective student is required to send their transcripts before March 2. They are supposed to receive a decision within two weeks of submission of the documents.
