Students acquire the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to transcribe medical reports, communicate effectively with members of the medical profession, and demonstrate computer skills and keyboarding proficiency. This program is designed to prepare graduates for employment as medical transcriptionists in a variety of health care environments or home-based businesses.

Graduates may find employment as medical transcriptionists in health authorities, hospitals, medical and specialists’ offices, medical faculties in universities, and their own home-based businesses.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Admissions Requirements:

Grade 12 graduation or equivalent
Successful completion of a 5-minute keyboarding test with a typing speed of 25 gross words per minute with five errors or less using the touch-typing method
English 12 with a B grade, or
IELTS Academic overall 6.5, with 6.0 in Listening and Reading, 6.5 in Writing and 7.0 in Speaking
