The Bachelor of Applied Music is a full-time program. A combination of classroom instruction, lab activities, rehearsals, performances, work experience, and practicum are included in the program. Students enrolled in the degree program specialize in classical, world, or jazz and contemporary music. In each of the four terms, students enroll in either classical voice or performance concentration. In the first two terms, students enroll in either Conducting or Creative Music Improvisation.
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Requirements:
- Successful completion of the VCC Music Diploma or equivalent with a minimum B average and minimum A- in specialized performance or academic area.
- VCC English Language Assessment for applicants whose first language is not English and presenting foreign documents.
- Written proposal to the School of Music outlining applicant's goals and proposed program of work.
- Audition in a specialized performance area
