Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
To maintain status in the Bachelor of Physical Education and Coaching, students must meet the following criteria:
- Students maintain a minimum GPA of 2.00 and achieve a minimum grade of “P” in all registered academic courses.
- Students must register in a minimum of 24 credits F/T or 9 credits P/T annually.
- Full-Time students must achieve a Mastery (MAS) grade in a minimum of 2.5 fieldwork/portfolio credits per academic year or Part-Time students must achieve a Mastery (MAS) grade in a minimum of 1 fieldwork/portfolio credit per academic year.
Students get the admission in 2nd Year of the BPEC program if they meet the following admission requirements:
- The admission in the 2nd year of the BPEC program is contingent depends upon the availability of seats.
- 24 university transfer credits completed or currently enrolled at the time of application.
- The completed and/or currently enrolled courses must include:
- Minimum of 9 Sports Science or equivalent credits
- Biology (BIOL 1109) or Biology (BIOL 1103) or equivalent
- 3 credits of university transfer English
- Foundations of Math 11 with a minimum grade of "C", Pre-Calculus 11 with a minimum grade of "C", or approved equivalent and a minimum GPA of 2.33 for completed courses is required.
Students get the admission in 3rd Year of the BPEC program if they meet the following admission requirements:
- The Sport Science department uses a preferential admissions procedure for entry into the BPEC program. The admission in the 3rd year of the BPEC program is contingent depends upon the availability of seats.
- Students have to complete a minimum of 54 undergraduate credits with a minimum GPA of 2.33.
- The completed and/or currently enrolled courses must include:
- Minimum of 21 Sport Science or equivalent credits
- Biology (BIOL 1109) or Biology (BIOL 1103) or equivalent
- Biology (BIOL 1209) or Biology (BIOL 1203) or equivalent
- 3 credits of university transfer English and Maths.
Language Requirements:
- The students must be able to understand and fluently speak the language of instruction (English) in the program. Proof of linguistic proficiency may be required.
- The students whose official language is not English must submit the English Language Proficiency scores like IELTS or TOEFL.
- If the student does not meet the language requirements they can take English Language Learning and Acquisition (ELLA) program and complete it and pursue this program.
Indian Student Eligibility:
- Students have to complete High school graduation or a minimum of 17 years of age by the end of the first month of studies in the semester of entry to Douglas College.
- Students hold a minimum overall grade average of 60% (or equivalent) in the final year of high school.
- Students acquire a minimum final grade of “C” or 60% (or equivalent) in Grade 11 Mathematics or equivalent for most programs.

- Resume/CV - This provides a summary of the experience and skills of the student.
- Two Reference Letter: The two personal admissions reference letters from coaches, PE teachers, or community leaders verifying physical education, sport or work experience, and a character reference.
- Financial Documentation - The Proof that shows the financial background of the student.
- Letter of Recommendation - This shows who recommended the student to pursue the degree.
- Statement of Purpose - This is an essay or any written statement written by the student while applying.
- College Transcripts - The marks statement provided by the education board after completion of the previous academic qualifications.
- Upon offer of admission to the program, Students have to successfully complete the Ministry of Justice Criminal Record.
- Students have to submit English Language requirement scores like TOEFL, IELTS, etc.
