The Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Douglas College is offered as a 4-years or 8-term teaching program.
This program is offered both full-time and part-time.
The honors degree has the same basic structure as the Bachelor of Arts in Applied Psychology but concentrates more on third- and fourth-year Psychology coursework.
The honors research thesis gives the opportunity to develop and carry out supervised, independent research.
During your third and fourth years, the student will focus on at least one 15- or18-credit concentration in one of six areas where psychology is applied in the workplace: Pre-counselling, Psychosocial Rehabilitation, Forensic/Criminology, Applied Theory, and Research, Leadership, and Management.
There are a variety of possible careers in psychology, including clinical or counseling practice, academic research, human resources, or criminal justice

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Eligibility:

The student must be a High school graduate and 60% in the final year during the admission.
A minimum of 60% in Senior Secondary Education.
Students must have a Gpa of 2.0 on a 4.33 scale.
A minimum of 17 years of age by the end of the first month of the first year in this program.
One short course of BC secondary school graduation
To pursue this program the student must complete the 60 credits of the first and second year in BA Psychology and apply for an honors degree and pursue this program.

Language Requirements:

The students must be able to understand and fluently speak the language of instruction (English) in the program. Proof of linguistic proficiency may be required.
The students whose official language is not English must submit the English Language Proficiency scores like IELTS or TOEFL.
If the student does not meet the language requirements they can take English Language Learning and Acquisition (ELLA) program and complete it and pursue this program.
