- Photonics and Laser technology has impacted virtually all segments of society and industry, from the way we communicate, harness energy from the sun, manufacture things, measure things (including many important new medical instruments and laser-based therapies) and finally entertain ourselves with colourful displays in all sizes and shapes.
- Carleton University and Algonquin College have entered into a unique partnership to offer a combined Bachelor of Information Technology (BIT) degree and advanced diploma.
- The Bachelor of Information Technology Photonics and Laser Technology (BIT) program provides a multidisciplinary education and practical experience in such diverse but connected subjects such as, laser physics, optical system design, bio photonics, fiberoptic telecommunication, laser machining and holography.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
Applicant must have
- English, Grade 12 (ENG4C or equivalent) with a grade of 70% or higher.
- Mathematics, Grade 11 (MBF3C or equivalent).
International student eligibility:
- Applicants must have passed 12th with one of the following: All India School Certificate (CBSE), Indian School Certificate (CISCE), or one of the state board certificates
- Admission average will be calculated on 5-6 academic subjects completed in the XII level
- The minimum entrance averages range between 67-85%, depending on the program
- Subjects required: Mathematics
Applicant must have qualified any one of the language tests IELTS/TOEFL to prove English language proficiency.
