About this course:
- The Honours Program is a full-time year of study commencing in semester one.
- The program has two components, course work and a thesis.
- Students develop the coursework and thesis research expertise, analytical problem-solving skills, and written and oral communication abilities.
- Honours students study three coursework units comprising a compulsory unit in research philosophy, foundations and methods and two specialisation electives within your Discipline.
- Depending on the specialisation of the student, coursework may be completed in semester one or across both semester one and two.
- The thesis is a 20,000-word research-based dissertation on a topic in which the student has a strong intellectual interest.
- The research should identify an area for investigation which makes a relevant contribution to and extends the body of knowledge in the student's chosen domain.
- The quality of the research design, development of research question, application of appropriate methodologies and interpretation of findings, as well as the student's ability to effectively communicate this research are assessed in the thesis.
- Students will work on their thesis across their candidature in the program.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- A secondary education qualification such as the NSW Higher School Certificate (including national and international equivalents), or approved higher education study, including approved preparation courses.
- In this program, admission is also based on the total score for the completed diploma.
Indian Student Eligibility:
- CBSE: The student must have all India Senior School Certificates awarded by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). A total of the best four externally examined subjects are considered.
- Indian School Certificate: The student must have an Indian School Certificate awarded by the Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE). The required score is the average of the best four subjects, including English.
- Indian HSSC: The student must have an average of the best five academic subjects in the Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) in the states of Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, and West Bengal. The requirement is higher for other states.
