Close to home it's pretty good. I didn't want to pay heaps in fuel and public transport so this was a good option. Also because they offered early acceptance stuff so I didn't have to worry about my school results as much.
Course Curriculum
It's ok. It has a lot of good outcomes and the units are set out well to achieve all of them. I think I don't really even know what I have to do in all of my units yet as I have not looked but I'm pretty sure they are all good.
Placement
The placement and job opportunities are alright. Apparently, they are highly known for there extensive placement opportunities throughout your studies which is great because it makes you more employable when you graduate or even before. There's always heaps of options.
Internship
Yes, I haven't done one yet because I'm only a first year but I heard that they are well known for amazing practical experience in all fields which helps for employment later on. I'm really excited to do internships because there are so many choices and they will boost my abilities.
Events
Don't know too many as I've just begun but I have seen stuff about Harmony day, women's week, climate change protests. There's plenty of events within societies and clubs and if you are with the peer mentoring program There's always something.
Fees
The fee structure was a choice of paying as you go like upfront prior or during studies at any time before a certain date but you could also defer your fees with HECS help that just lets you pay it later when you have a stable income.
Scholarship
No scholarships from the uni. One from a local bank though to help with the transition. Also financial aid with deferring payments until later.
Examination Structure
The exam is structured for certain units that do require an exam because of some don't. The ones that do usually have a mid-semester quiz instead of an exam and it just tests most of your knowledge and then there's an exam at the end of the semester during the exam block.
Faculty
Very good. It is a very supportive community with lots of helpful people and the faculty is structured well - there is a course convenor and then the staff.
Hostel
Off-campus accommodation. I didn't want to leave home just yet because I don't need to. I know a handful of people that are living on campus and they said it's too expensive.
