It's prestigious, focuses on psychology which I love and has good year 12 requirements. In addition to this, the university is industry focused and almost always gives students a work placement opportunity to apply the skills they developed over the years in real life work scenarios.

Course Curriculum

It's interesting; however, it lacks respect to those from religious backgrounds and seems very anti-theist. This is obviously attributed to its skeptical nature and emphasis on scientific discipline and the like. Extremely disappointing.

Exams

Victorian certificate of education (VCE) exams in year 12 in order to get an ATAR. So far I haven\ t completed University exams yet however, I have done quizzes which are small assessment tasks that count towards the overall aggregate score. I'm averaging distinction and high distinction.

Placement

For the course I'm currently doing, job opportunities are extremely limited. It usually leads to psychology-related jobs such as counseling, clinical psychology, organizational psychology, etc. The course is not broad enough to allow for more job prospects in the future.

Internship

Not until the last year of study. In the last year, a student will be placed in the workforce under the supervision of a professional to monitor their skills and development in the field. However not every course provides an internship.

Events

10

It celebrated the orientation week prior to semester 1 commencement, it hosts parties from time to time and many unions and organized groups in the university host fun and collaborative events for students.

Fees

Fees differ between courses. However, most courses allow for a CSP which means the government pays for the course over your study period through a system known as HECS-HELP. Once you graduate and get employed, this money gets deducted through taxes once you reach a certain income threshold.

Scholarship

HECS is provided to all Australian citizens. This means the government covers the tuition and I will pay it back through taxation once I make money over a certain threshold.

Examination Structure

There are two exam periods namely mid-year and end of year exams. Mid-year exams test students on semester 1 subjects and end of year exams test them of semester 2 subjects. Exams occur over a 2 week period somewhere away from University.

Faculty

7

It definitely rewards if a student is willing to put in the effort and has some of the best educators in the field. It also doesn't overwork students with work which is impressive.

Hostel

8

I lived at home and traveled to University taking public transport. Living on campus is far too harsh for me as I will never leave my family behind for studies or anything else. I also like studying at home after learning the content at a lecture or tutorial.
