The way they prepare you for the workforce and their industry connections. I'm doing the applied course and that includes a one year paid internship type thing and it really sets up your career. Universities like Melbourne and Monash aren't as career focused.
Course Curriculum
I really like it, and the subjects on offer really match up with what you do in the real world and it's just such a great uni. Like there are so many units in Melbourne that just make your study and study and they don't prepare you for a job.
Exams
VCE with an ATAR of 84.5. In Australia, each state has its own certificate of education and in Victoria, it's called VCE.
Placement
Very good. RMIT has so many industry connections so when you're looking for a place to work they have so many companies that they can put you in touch with and RMIT have their own job search site so companies advertise jobs directly to RMIT students.
Internship
Yes, I love it. They make you work for your internship. Like interviews and everything, it?s so good and you work for an entire year and do a couple of assignments. You're working full time 5 days a week
Fees
It's like just over $1000 per subject but it also depends on what course you're going to. We have to pay student amenities fees and it's all covered under HECS.
Examination Structure
Really good. Usually, it's just end of semester exams but sometimes there?s mid sem ones but it just depends on what course you do and what subjects you do. Some subjects don't have exams though like it's all assessed through assignments during the year.
Faculty
So good. RMIT is one of the best units in Melbourne. The economics and finance faculty is amazing and all the staff is really nice and helpful. If you ever have questions they're always there to answer.
