The university had a very good reputation for health science. It was also located in a central place, Brisbane, so is very easy to get to via transport. Additionally, I wanted to live on campus and UQ provided this opportunity.
Course Curriculum
Many of the courses are a lot more challenging than I had first anticipated. However, I believe this is setting me up for the best possible career and making sure I know what I need to before graduating.
Fees
Each course costs around $1000 AUD, however, Aus provides HECS which is a student help fund that allows you to take a loan and pay it off once you're earning enough money. The only other charges are those for textbooks and lab gear. However, I have the additional cost of living on campus.
Examination Structure
Some courses have mid-semester and end of semester exams while others have no exams but weekly/fortnightly quizzes and assessments. The exams themselves usually consist of multiple choice questions and short answers.
Faculty
Although I haven't had too much to do with the faculty, they always reply promptly to emails and are very good at reminding us of assessment deadlines and other document submissions.
