The University of Adelaide is great. I can't explain it in words. When I was in India I was not meant to be so free and personally experience each and everything apart from studies as well and to lead a life individually. So the campus life is really good. The university provides a lot of opportunities for growth and there are many clubs for different activities, career building activities to build our resume, cover letter and how to get the networking and professional life built. They do conduct a lot of workshops too related to how to motivate yourself. So a lot of fun activities are going on and Orientation week is the perfect opportunity because every student has to go and visit the campus where all the fun activities are going on and stalls are set up to promote the events.

Course Curriculum

For the academic part, it's not just lectures, we have seminars, we have practical laboratories which are going on. We have different types of tutorials. The lectures are basically where the professor teaches us and in tutorials the assistant professors help us to overcome our errors. They are very friendly so if we have any kind of doubts in the technical aspect they do help us and make us overcome that. In academic perspective apart from the final exams we do have a lot of weekly tasks like quizzes, on campus monitor exams and assignments like a couple of them in each semester which are pretty practical in nature. It is all scheduled properly and we have our individual portal and we can message our professors where we can ask our doubts and they reply immediately.

Exams

For application, the university expected me to upload a lot of documents like my certificates including my 10th, 12th and individual semester transcripts of Bachelor's degree along with SOP and LORs. Apart from that, university had the general criteria in which I had to submit my IELTS scores according to the eligibility criteria that was 6.5 bands out of 9 bands. Since the University of Adelaide comes under the group of 8 universities, we had a different kind of application Procedure. We had to pay $110 as our tuition fees. It was not very much as the university comes under the top 8 universities. Apart from that, I got into Adelaide University on the basis of my Graduate scores that is my CGPA which was about 8.6 so it got easy for me to get into Adelaide University. Yes, the university expected me to upload a lot of documents like my certificates including my 10th, 12th and individual semester transcripts of Bachelor's degree along with SOP and LORs.

The opportunities provided by my University are pretty good. The professors help us get internships and help us connect with industries as much as possible. I also personally attend many events so that I build networks and it is really easy to get a job then in later stage of college.

Internship

I am looking forward to an internship. There are a lot of opportunities through our professors and via professional networking events. We have a lot of workshops going on for that. If we personally get a membership of Engineers Australia they promote a lot of events. I personally go into a lot of events which they send through emails as part of their membership. I got linked to a lot of people. I try to apply to a lot of Graduate programs for internships. I get a lot of insights from people and it helps me to get to know a lot about my stream.

Scholarship

I also got a 25% scholarship. We do have different types of scholarships like starting from 15%, 25% and 30%. When I was applying for the University it was only 15 and 25% but lately due to Covid and other related things they have increased the scholarship up to 30%. But each and every scholarship has a different criteria based on background, exam scores and also the extra curricular activities if any. Finally I got a 25% scholarship when I was applying. There is also an arrears criteria. I guess the minimum arrear that they accept is 2-3. For more than 3-5 arrears they do not accept applicants. The minimum CGPA for eligibility is 6 or 7 but students who apply for scholarships usually have at least 7.5.

Faculty

I am in the Electrical Engineering department. So there are a lot of professors. Apart from the professors we do have a lot of Assistant professors who mainly concentrate on the tutoring stuff. It is all scheduled properly and we have our individual portal and we can message our professors where we can ask our doubts and they reply immediately. Apart from the academics they do help us in getting us internships if they have links in industries. They bring a lot of people from the industry and help us understand what is really happening in the industry and help us network with them as well.

Campus Life

There are a lot of clubs. They are more than 20. We have to personally get enrolled. There are different clubs for Yoga, Dance, Meditation activities. There are also community clubs like Christian clubs. Their motive is not to promote any religion but just to network with people over dinner. There are a lot of volunteering activities alo. We get to make a lot of new friends from multicultural backgrounds and it's really fun to get introduced to new people. Apart from the Indians we do have a lot of Chinese people too.
