There were few factors which I considered for deciding the University. First, UTS was leading university in Australia in Technology Sector. Second, UTS is located in the heart of the City (Central), which is very convenient. The course curriculum was one the best that I found amongst all the University I shortlisted.

Course Curriculum

8

The Course Curriculum at the time we were studying was good enough. Later when I was working in the industry, I found out that the curriculum is still the same and is being not updated regularly.

Exams

My Scores: IELTS R: 7.5 L: 8.0 S:7.0 W: 7.0, Minimum requirements are 6.5 in each category. PTE is also excepted with a minimum of 65 score in each category. Even if you cannot fulfill the minimum requirement, you could still get the admission but you have to do an English course before starting with the University which is of 6 months duration

Placement

1

There are Campus placements being held in regular intervals in the University. Companies setup their stall. Students can register for the events and talk to the company representatives individually. The main challenge students will face that company tend not to prefer people on Student Visa especially in the government organisations.

Internship

No, I wasn't able to intern due to COVID. There are few online internships option available at https://www.theforage.com/. They provide static internships. I completed 3 internships from this platform

Fees

I paid 80000 AUD.

Scholarship

Yes I did receive a one time scholarship amounting $5000 AUD. This was received based on my performance in Bachelors.

Faculty

8

Faculty is one the best in the Sydney, Almost all the faculties are PHD holders. Faculty to student ratio varies from lecture to practical sessions. In lecture, the ratio could be 1: 200 and in practical sessions, the ratio is around 1:40. This also depends upon the popularity of the subject. The faculties are very helpful. You can even reach the faculty for your problems after the class or even in their faculty room. You just need to book an appointment with them.

Campus Life

Campus Life is great. The campus is one the best in the entire Sydney equipped with modern infrastructure and best facilities. There are lot of events and extracurricular activities being organised weekly. There are more that 70+ clubs/ societies including sports, finance, cultural, gaming etc. which you can become part of. The Campus is located in the heart of the city which gives you easy access to all the well known places of the Sydney including Harbour Bridge, Opera House, Bondi Beach etc.

Hostel

Accommodation facilities in Sydney depends upon the Suburb you choose to live in. If you want to live next to the campus the rates are comparatively high but you save the commute time whereas if you want to live far from University, you might get cheaper options but you have to commute to reach the University. UTS provides accomodations in the nearby area of the campus which has sharing and non sharing options. They are on first come first serve basis. The accommodation is always in great demand. Other private alternatives include Urbannest, Igloo and UniLodge which also provides great modern infrastructure and are located near to University area.
