The University of Sydney has a renowned globally accredited medical programme which is accepted in multiple countries. Also it is close to home, which for me is Singapore.

Course Curriculum

As a medical programme its great; get to go to the hospital once a week to see real patients from the first week of the programme so it gives great clinical exposure. The lecturers and academics are fantastic in that they provide great lectures and are willing to answer and entertain questions. You get great research exposure too through the MD project component of the programme. They've recently updated the syllabus for new incoming first years so the programme.

Exams

My scores for MCAT: 513; breakdown is 130 (chemical and physical foundations of biological systems), 127 (critical analysis and reasoning skills), 130 (biological and biochemical foundations of living systems), 128 (psychological, social and biological foundations of behaviour)

Placement

This isn't really relevant for medicine. Everyone gets employed after the degree by virtue of the type of degree

Events

Campus life is very active with student societies for just about everything. There are several libraries, dedicated for different subjects and faculties. There is a fantastic Sydney Sports Hub and Aquatics Centre with recreational classes for all sorts of sports as well as more competitive opportunities.

The faculty and medical teaching staff are great. Professor John Mitrofanis was my anatomy professor for last year and earlier this year who really has a fabulous way of explaining complex anatomical concepts.

Hostel

No, live in private student accommodation where rental needs to be paid separately.
