The University of Sydney is among the top ranked universities of the world who delivers some great post graduate courses. The policy to encourage critical and systems thinking in their teaching and research is really timely and most appropriate given the era that we live in. Most importantly, the graduate courses in project management they offer are unique owing to the general subject content that covers a wide range and the industry focus.

Course Curriculum

9

The curriculum gets updated continuously based on inputs from the industry as well as from the university, hence can be said the most efficient. The industry related subjects were taught by industry experts. Guest lectures form industry professionals, real life projects, etc, were also included in the curriculum.

Exams

IELTS 6.5, A bachelors degree from a reputed university in a related field, more than average Grade point average

Placement

9

Although, I received many emails regarding those, did not have the chance to try any. Nonetheless, I believe all those opportunities are very competitive. Usyd was ranked as the top in employability.

Internship

NO.

Events

Sports are managed by Sports Federation Sydney uni (SFSU) and the clubs and societies by The USU (University of Sydney Union). However, the hitch is that most of the things cost money. There are many official and unofficial sports and other events throughout the year in the uni. Each department has its won labs and research facilities. There are other research and development facilities and centers who work with the industry as well. Wifi is available across the uni for free.

Fees

AUD 45,000 per year for international students.

Scholarship

Australia Awards scholarship. It's a development scholarship given to people who demonstrate an impact towards the development of the country. Application process is online through the respective country website. For instance, I had to use the AA Sri Lanka website. I had to write an essay regarding the benefits the scholarship would bring for my country as well as for me, the selection criteria of the university and the course I selected, etc.. Additionally, a reintegration plan in which we have to demonstrate how we would use the skills we gained through the scholarship in our professions was also submitted along with the application. After short listing they call for an interview, which is the final hurdle before getting the scholarship.

Faculty

10

All faculty members were well qualified. The university has a policy that even the tutors who are engaged in a particular course should have at least qualification equal to that respective course. A 50 student class is managed by one lecturer and 2-3 tutors. Dr. Sabine Ludwig, Dr. Amanda Collins.

Hostel

Uni provided accommodations are of good quality and safe. The biggest benefit is the on campus accommodation that would save you the travelling time. However, all of those cost money. Especially, in a city like Sydney where the lodging and housing is very expensive it really does not matter whether it is uni or external when it comes to cost.
