I chose the University for its ranking as the 11th youngest University in Australia as well as because it is one of the top business schools in Australia.
Course Curriculum
The course curriculum is quite vast and has a lot of subjects and fields to choose from. The MBA program has within it 8 core subjects which total 48 credit points and the remaining 48 of the total 96 credit points can be acquired by selecting any subject from the electives provided. The student can also choose two sub-majors or one major in their course. I enjoy academics because it involves theoretical as well as industry-relevant practical knowledge with professors from all across the globe sharing their personal experiences.
Exams
GMAT as well as TOEFL/IELTS were required for admission. My GMAT score- 550, TOEFL score- 108.
Placement
The University has a facility called CareerHub which provides students with opportunities on meeting potential employers. The CareerHub provides students with facilities like regular job postings, Resume checking and reviewing, help with interviews, etc. They also organize regular career fairs which provide students a chance to interact with employers directly and ask a lot of questions about a future in any particular company to build their career. This also provides students opportunities to work at CareerHub as volunteers or with them. Through CareerHub I secured a summer internship program for 2 weeks as well as an internship program that can potentially lead to a permanent job.
Internship
I have opted for two Internship opportunities through the CareerHub facility at UTS. The first one was hosted by a company named practica and gave International students a chance to work with Australian companies on a specific project for 2 weeks. The number of participants was divided into groups of 4-5 members and assigned a company each. I was part of the shared value program with the company called Virtual Psychologist. We were all given a certain project and received a badge and certificate on completion of the same. The other internship which I procured through CareerHub is with a digital marketing company in Australia called Digital-Collective. Co. I would be working as a digital marketer with the company.
Events
The campus and infrastructure are of top quality at UTS. The buildings at UTS have been awarded for their sustainable and environmentally efficient design and architecture. The University also provides over 150 clubs and societies ranging from sports, tech, social and food-related ones. They also have one of the largest libraries in Sydney along with a number of cafes, music rooms, dance rooms, gymnasiums, etc.
Fees
Approximately 86000 AUD is the program fee.
Scholarship
Yes, I received a scholarship of 25% of the tuition fee. This scholarship granted to me is named the South Asia Postgraduate Business Merit Scholarship.
Faculty
The faculty and staff are extremely kind and cooperative. They are always eager to help out and offer their guidance to the best of their capacity. The faculty also comprises highly-experienced industry persons who have gained years of experience in their respective fields. They also come from different countries and that adds value culturally and socially to the classes as well.
Hostel
The Housing facility offers a variety of options to International students. It has 4-5 different housing options to choose from with varying rates but all of which are within a maximum of 15-20 minutes walking distance from the University's main building. They also have sharing options within these housings which range from double sharing to 4, 6, or 7 sharing. Apart from this they also offer studio apartments. The housing is comfortable and efficient for students.
