How tough is IIM B test for getting into fellowship program at IIM Bangalore?
The IIM B test for getting into a fellowship program which is also known as RAT is difficult. It can be challenging if you haven’t prepared for CAT/GMAT/GRE/JRF in the past or took any kind of prep course. The examination includes theory questions from specific areas of Game Theory, Calculus, or other advanced techniques from standard undergrad syllabus but the examination syllabus isn’t limited to these topics.
IIM B test isn’t an aptitude test like CAT. As these are area-specific tests, a good weightage is given to the test score for evaluation.
After the completion of NICMAR studies, how can I get a job in Canada or the USA?
It will be difficult to get a job in Canada or in the US after completing a degree from NICMAR. NICMAR degrees aren’t recognized by WES of Canada and it isn’t listed in most universities there. However, construction companies from Gulf countries and some African countries visit the campus placement.

You can simply answer that you needed more time for preparation.
During your break year, you can do volunteer work during weekends or learn something new. If you opted out of campus placements, you can do research projects or internships with your professor. You can do some certification or take examinations, in your field of interest, such as CFA/FRM. These will help showcase that you have spent your time productively.
What are the differences between Operations and SCM at NITIE?
Supply Chain Management deals with the flow of goods and services from external businesses or places. Operation management is the management of internal processes. The skill-sets required for SCM and Operations Management are fairly similar. Many companies have different teams or individuals that handle these areas separately. Also, for some companies, a single team or a person handles both areas. The meaning of SCM and Operations are often interchangeable. In NITIE also, they mean the same thing.
What is the procedure involved when visiting the IIM Ahmedabad campus?
There is no proper procedure. If you want to visit the campus, you can make an entry in the register at the gate. It will be even easier if you know someone from the campus. Guards at the gate aren’t too finicky about people who want to get inside to see the campus. Although they stop those who are coming by vehicle.
How do I answer the profile detail form in the IMT Ghaziabad CT-GE-PI?
Keep your answer crisp. Draft your answer in a way that highlights the applicability part. If you have work experience, write what kind of work experience you have and the key deliverables. Mention your roles and responsibilities. If you are a fresher, mention academic achievements, particular subject knowledge or General Awareness especially corporate ones like the latest disruptive technologies, mergers acquisitions, etc.
For extra-curricular activities, you can mention any national-level achievements or participation. If you don’t have any national-level achievements to talk about, you can talk about undergraduate extracurriculars.

Is it true that XLRI does not consider past academics for admission?
It’s not true that XLRI doesn’t consider past academics for shortlisting students. They consider the academic records along with the other factors in your profile but the weightage assigned to academics is not as much as other reputed management institutes like IIMs.
Here is the weightage of different components for final selection at XLRI.
XLRI Selection Criteria Weightage 2022:
- XAT score - 60%
- GD/PI - 25%
- Academic profile, essay, GK, work experience, video - 15%
As they assign only 15% for academic profile and other factors, if you perform well in XAT and GD-PI round, you will have a good chance of converting the interview call. Also, XAT doesn’t have any minimum required mark in graduation like CAT.
So, if you want to join XLRI, prepare well for XAT and work on your communication skills.
Can we use last year's GATE score for NITIE Mumbai 3 PGD courses?
Yes, you can use last year’s GATE score for getting admission in 3 PGD courses at NITIE Mumbai. Your GATE score will be valid for the next 3 years. So, you can apply for NITIE, within that period, with the same GATE score. You won’t have to take GATE again within the next 3 years.
Is doing a certificate programme in financial analytics from IIM Rohtak worth it?
Doing a certificate program in Financial Analytics from IIM Rohtak can be worth the investment if you use the knowledge gained through the program. If you don’t have an opportunity to implement your learning at your workplace, you can search for problems that can be solved by using the techniques you learned. You should talk about your learning and practical implementations, in job interviews.
Many B-Schools are offering Analytics courses, before choosing one go through the course curriculum and compare. Review the faculty base. Reach out to past students. Compare course fees. You will also find many analytics courses on various e-learning platforms, before doing an IIM certification, complete these courses. Doing such courses will give you an idea of whether doing the certification from IIM will add any value to your profile.
