I was in between CSULA and CSUF however I chose CSULA primarily because they emailed me to sign up for the honors college. Once I got accepted they offered me a scholarship which primarily swayed me into choosing LA over Fullerton.

Course Curriculum

9

For the honors college, in particular, it's quite interesting. The classes are very discussion based on music or book centered around the topic of LA and either its culture or its history. The fall classes were about public speaking and a "future use" class. Basically, we prepped resumes, cover letters, made a four-year plan, learned about the campus, etc. In terms of the general classes, they are quite larger in size but still allow for one on one time if wanted.

Exams

I took the SAT with a score of about 1280 and five AP exams including Psych (5), Lit (3), Spanish IV and V both (5).

Fees

I'm guessing this means tuition. It's fairly low compared to UCs and actually, prefer it. It's about 3,400 per semester which includes any fees imaginable. Included are fees for the ASI and any fees for use of the health departments included such as the dentist, optometrist, chiropractor, etc. Book is another fee but many teachers so far tend to not require them.

Scholarship

I have received a scholarship of 10,000 for four years. I came across this when the honors college reached out to me to apply. With the application, I had to give teacher recommendations and after it got reviewed they scheduled an online interview with the two directors. Afterwards, I got an email about my acceptance and a scholarship offer based on my merits.

Examination Structure

It depends on the class. Typically in the Honors College, there are no tests. In the other classes, there are only two exams, a midterm and a final. With the same grading system as many highschools with the typical 90+ is A's, 80+ are B's, etc.

Faculty

Incredibly kind and easy to approach. They are always looking to help and will work with you to perfect or understand an assignment. Every teacher I have received are very clear and concise in the info they give out.
