I wanted to major in computer science and out of all the universities that I had gotten into, UW-Madison had the highest ranking (around 11th position in the US) in comp sci. Furthermore, this university has a major focus and offers great opportunities in sports, which I wanted to continue pursuing from high school.

I had to submit my CV, which included academic accolades, accomplishments in sports, internships, community service, extracurricular activities, and personal strengths. In addition, I had to submit letters of recommendation which I took from my computer science professor, business professor, and football coach. I also had to submit a common app essay which focused on how I was a member of starting the first girl's soccer team in my school and my role as vice-captain in leading my team to success in order to highlight my strengths of perseverance, leadership, concern for social issues (in this case, representation of girls in sports) and initiative. Another essay that I was required to submit was one of why I wanted to attend the university and the reason for my interest in my major. This essay focused on internships and experiences in high school that sparked my interest in computer science, as well as the professors, programs, and student organizations at UW-Madison that I wanted to get involved in. I also included my career goals in the essay.
Placement
Not sure as I am a freshman who's been on campus for less than two weeks. However, from research done during my application and decision process, placement is pretty high and it is one of the highest producers of Fortune 500 company CEO.
Events
Just moved into campus two weeks ago and due to covid almost everything is closed, so haven't had the opportunity to explore and see much of the college infrastructure and extracurricular activities. However, the newly renovated dorms are extremely good, the dining halls offer a wide variety of food to accommodate all food preferences, there's a large number of restaurants around campus, the campus is located right in the middle of the city, healthcare is taken seriously with frequent covid testing and mental health services provided in quarantine.

Hostel
Yes. The dorm that I live in (sellery) is one of the older residence halls. Therefore, the infrastructure is not the best and the most modern. However, the rooms are a decent size and come with appliances such as an air conditioner and a mini fridge. The newly renovated dorms that I have seen are extremely nice on the other hand.
