It had a great education program, which was what I majored in! It was also far away from home, so I could get that independent experience. It was crucial for me to set out on my own. I really loved the campus, and found that it was so homie and suited my needs! It wasn't too large or too small either. It was right in the middle. Honestly, the best four years of my life and I call it a second home, I'd love to go back.
Course Curriculum
Sometimes it would be annoying because there were core classes that you had to take, that felt like they had nothing to do with your major. But once you got into your major's classes, you felt more motivated and purposeful in your learning.
Exams
SAT, MTELs. The MTEL's are tests that are required for education majors to get their teaching license. The SAT scores just help set you apart and get you into the school itself.
Events
My school was very big on sororities and campus involvement. We would have a lot of days, especially in the spring, where students were encouraged to go outside and meet people and mingle. This was how I found a majority of my friends, even. There was something new every week, and the campus always felt alive and lively.
Fees
There would be typical fees for living on campus and having a meal plan, things that are expected. Also, buying textbooks was something you had to do on your own and manage.
Examination Structure
We had typical midterm and finals each semester. It was very straight forward and easy to follow in terms of testing dates and study dates. You would know about the exams months in advance, and the professors would do their best to prepare you.
Faculty
The faculty in my department were extremely knowledgable and helpful, especially during my student teaching duration. I would be lost without their guidance!
Hostel
It was an on-campus dorm for all four years. They were very clean, and you were more apt to get the newer dorms the older you were (freshmen vs seniors), but I found that it didn't matter where you lived as long as you had a good group of friends with you on your floor. That made the biggest difference!
