This college is in my home state and I ultimately chose it because it was the cheapest I got accepted to because I have in state tuition. I was in the top 10th percentile of my class and I got accepted into UConn’s honors program that only accepts 500 students out of an incoming class of over 6000. I chose this program because I originally thought I would transfer out but after staying for a year I really liked the school, it was big enough and had plenty of diversity and programs offered. But small enough that I didn’t feel overwhelmed by the large community. The honors program is a fantastic community.

Course Curriculum

9

The course curriculum is okay, it’s rather difficult in the first few introduction courses but once the courses advance they are smaller and easier to understand as the professor can provide more attention towards their students.

Exams

My own scores were around 2100 - SAT, 34 - ACT. This program to get into UConn required at least a score of 1200 but to get into honors they only take the certain top students of the applicant pool. My major is not difficult to get into and is one of the largest majors at my school. The eligibility is to just have an interest in biological sciences.

Fees

I’m not aware of any scholarships for international applicants but there is a very high population of international students at the university. I was awarded the academic excellence scholarship and granted $7000 a year which significantly reduced my costs annually. I also have a university grant that was offered for financial aid. UConn now provides tuition-free for students from a family who make under a certain amount of income.

Scholarship

I have availed academic merit scholarship and university grants.

Examination Structure

It varies by class

Faculty

9

There is a 12: faculty-student ratio and plenty of graduate assistants which are there to assist with nearly every class and lab. The graduate assistants are the teaching assistants for the undergrad class so they are able to access grades.
