I wanted a job upon graduation. I ran cross country my first 1.5 years and UT had a great athletic program. Any major I switched to would have a good program as well, which is part of why I chose UT over another school with a good running program.

Course Curriculum

Some of it is useless but other parts were useful. I use the pathology background that I learned in school but I hardly ever use any nursing theory. We are to follow the hospital recovery protocol so on my floor I am told which care plan to implement.

Placement

9

Good for nurses because we are in demand, however, if you cannot get a residency program you're kind of out of luck. I was lucky to get one and most people do. For other majors, it's much more difficult to get a job.

Fees

There were so many fees in nursing school, on top of the extra money spent on scrubs (that were poor quality), nursing supplies and textbooks.

Examination Structure

Mostly multiple choice or select all that apply, which mimics our licensure exam. So I would say they did a good job of preparing us for the NCLEX in terms of the exam format. The length wasn't too long or too short.

Faculty

Some are great, others made me want to drop out of college/transfer the heck out of UT. I feel like it's like that at any college though. There were enough profs that actually cared about us to keep us motivated.
