Because the course focuses on data analytics. I had an admit from Northeastern a year ago but it's information systems degree is mainly technical based
Course Curriculum
I have just been here for one semester but there is a course which was added recently and I liked it. Scholarship IST: it focuses on improving communication skills which will be important for a data analyst.
Exams
GRE: quants: 163 , verbal: 142 ; TOEFL: 87. RIT needs only these two exams for pursuing masters.
Placement
Good. There is a career fair but you are mostly likely going to find a job applying online. The university helps a lot. They help you with your resume and do mock interviews.
Internship
No not yet. I have to complete a year to apply for any co-op.
Fees
Around 100000-12000$ for the whole degree. This does not include the scholarship. If you live outside campus you'll save a bunch of money. One can also work part-time and earn about 1000$ a month which can easily cover rent and living expenses.
Scholarship
20% (they will inform you if you are eligible), increases to 30% if you maintain a good pointer
Faculty
I started in spring and usually the number of students are low during this semester. I had 3 classes having 7,16,28 students respectively. Every professor was approachable.
Campus Life
Facilities are excellent. I haven't had the time to participate in any extra curricular activities. Library is being renovated so it has been temporarily shifted to a different place.
Hostel
I live in a sharing apartment, that is 2 bedroom 4 people. Rent is 370 , utilities 150 and food around 150 a month.
