UNCW is very close to the beach and is one of the only universities with a clinical research program. The campus is very pretty and has pretty good academics as well. I did not want to leave the beach.

Course Curriculum

9

Prerequisites for science classes are impossible to get into, there?s maybe 6 chem classes a semester and most students are chem, bio, nursing, marine bio majors. The school requires a lot of general education classes and they're very boring and sometimes hard to get into.

Exams

I took the ACT and SAT to get into the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. I don't remember my exact scores but for the SAT you need at least a 600 on the math and reading separately, not a combined score. I believe I got a 27 on the ACT.

Fees

Out of all the universities in North Carolina, UNCW provides very few scholarships and grants. I don't know a single person who has a purely academic scholarship, almost all are a sport/academic.

Examination Structure

Some courses such as chemistry the exams are made by the department and given to professors. I've had classes with multiple choice tests, written response and essays. Some classes make you buy scantrons some supply them.

Faculty

8

I haven't had much trouble with professors. Most professors are very passionate and love teaching.
