1) Low cost of living and good ROI. Stillwater is a small college town and not that expensive. Also the tuition fee of the program is not very high. There is good chance for assistanships from second semester onwards. Assistanships can cover lot of financial things. 2) The program is repurted and has straing alumuni base. 3) Good chances of internship. Good success rate in the program. 4) Mandatory to submit one research paper in SAS conference and also participate in case competitions. This gives very good exposure
Course Curriculum
Some companies in healthcare and finance domain use SAS for data analysis. This is not open source. The curriculum gives good exposure to SAS and we are required to get some basic certifications in SAS. There is lot of flexibility in terms of curriculum which can be used for selecting electives and tracks in analytics field. Also there are lot of courses in statistics and computer science department which we can choose if required. The course work is not very hectic as the entire program is laid out in 2 years. Prior to internship, we get good exposure for all the basics in the first year of the program. This helps during internship .

Faculty
My batch size is around 32 . Faculty to student ratio is very good as the batch sizes are generally low. The faculty is well versed and approachable . We can take classes from other department professors like Industrial engineering, Computer Science, MIS, Statistics. Dr. Goutam Chakraborty is the director of our program and teaches main core subjects in our program. He is one of the best in teaching both technical and non technical things and really encourages students to participate in case competitions and research conferences.
