Top rated public university in the country. Frequent career fairs (job fairs). Ample on-campus job opportunities. Affordable city for living (rent is cheaper). Free public transportation for students.

Course Curriculum

7

Wide range of courses you can pick from. Pretty normal and easy going course work, in terms of tests, assignments and projects. Every task is preformed in groups. Professors are people who are currently working in the industry.

Exams

Not that only test scores matters. But a GRE score of around 310 and TOEFL 100+/120 will definitely get you into the MSIS program in UPitt. It is much harder to get into MS CS program.

Placement

9

University provides plenty if job fairs. It is an opportunity to talk to people and build network. Though the university itself dont guarantee placements, it is upto the individual how well he/she takes advantage of these job fairs to communicate and network with people. Ultimately everyone lands a job, it demands on the individual's capabilities how easy or hard is for them to land a job. Internships are very important. If you get an internship, consider you have a full time job eventually.

Events

Though the university was established 250 years ago, the infrastructure is modern and regularly updated. Excellent libraries and computer labs. Wifi throughout the campus. Plenty and huge sports and gym facilities. Olympic size Swimming Pools. Monthly social events.

Scholarship

No Scholarship. International students wont get scholarships at University of Pittsburgh.

Faculty

7

Faculty to student ratio depends on the course you pick. Some courses have 1:25 ratio and others have 1:75. Each courses will have at least 1 teaching assistant along side the professor. Some faculty are approachable at any time of the day while some are only available via email or appointment.

Hostel

7

Shared a 1 BHK apartment with 2 other people for 900$. Each paid 300$. Electricity, wifi extra. Kitchen comes with stove, refrigerator and oven. Sometimes even with a microwave. Room comes with central heating and cooling system. Average rent, if your are sharing with at least 2 people should be around 350-400$. Anything around 500$ per person is expensive and should be avoided.
