WashU is a great school offering a program focused on Movement System Impairments, which is what I am interested in practicing as a clinician. It is also a top-ranked program and the city of St. Louis is very reasonable to live in.

Course Curriculum

10

It is a great program focused on the Movement System. This is more unique than other programs because it was created at WashU so all of our faculty and staff are very passionate about the curriculum topics.

Exams

I took the GRE for physical therapy graduate school. I also had to have a Bachelor of Science degree and had to meet certain prerequisites.

Placement

Physical therapy is a wonderful field to go into because there are always employment options. The clinical experiences you have during the program even offer to hire some of the students after they have worked there.

Internship

We are required to perform 4 clinical experiences during our program as well as 2 integrated clinical during our first two semesters: the full-time clinical include 2 that are 8 weeks long, one 10 weeks clinical, and a 12 week clinical. They are not paid but are wonderful learning opportunities to apply the skills we have been practicing in school.

Fees

It is a 3-year program with 3 semesters each year. Each academic semester is the same cost and each clinical experience has its own cost that is very reduced compared to a clinical semester.

Examination Structure

The written exams we take in the program are all Scantron based on multiple choice, matching, and true and false. There are also practical exams which are exams testing the skills we have learned and are one on one with staff members.

Faculty

10

The faculty are so intelligent and at the forefront of research in their fields. They take the time to make sure we understand all concepts and open up their offices to us outside of class if we need it.

Hostel

Many students in our program live near campus. I am a 10-15 minute walk away and I live with another PT student. Many other PT students live in our apartment complex. We have a gated parking lot, a gym, and many other perks that graduate students enjoy.
