Academics can be challenging as you are surrounded by some of the brightest people. However, studying hard as well as rounding yourself off as a person can be very easy if you put your mind to it. The university offers every chance possible to do so

UC Berkeley is ranked extremely highly. They have a great engineering program as well as Nuclear Engineering. The location was amazing in terms of weather as well as prospective internships in silicon valley. It also had many great programs so that I could take more classes, and as such I am minoring in Environmental Policy and Economics.

Course Curriculum

10

Course curriculum is great and does not only focus on the major but you learn about quite a few things. The breadth requirements encourage you to learn from outside your area of study and potentially find new passions. Also each course teaches skills that are not only applicable to the field but to multiple discplines.

Exams

Unweighted GPA: 3.86-4.00 Weighted GPA: 4.27-4.62 ACT*: 29-35 SAT*: 1330-1530 This is the incoming freshman year in Fall 2020. I took the ACT in which I got 34. Also, the admission requirements for Californian residents is a lower than for out of State students/International students.

Placement

They are amazing as Berkeley is highly rated especially in the research world. 90%+ of students get employed right after college.

Events

The campus is beautiful and has a lot to do. It has good facilities for every sport and activity, no matter how small. Greek life is big on campus, and I am a member of Sigma Pi. There are many student run organizations too that help a big crowd become smaller group of friendly faces.

Faculty

officially the ratio is 19:1 with 53% of classes being smaller than 20 students. However, in freshman lectures classes can have 500-1000 students in them.

Yes, I live in university dormitories. The dorms are expensive, working out to be between $1200-1700 a month. You always have a roommate, sometimes two and will most probably have a communal all gender bathroom. Most dorms are run down and not the nicest however, Clarr Kerr is big and almost in a world of its own. Blackwell too is one of the nicest dorms in the USA, almost feels like a hotel
