Ph.D. (Psychology) From VU, Bangalore

Candidates seeking admission to the Ph.D. Program 2022 need to have completed either of the following requirements:

1. A 1-year Master's degree with minimum 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade 'B' in the UGC 10- point scale.

   This could also be an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed or an equivalent degree from a foreign educational institution accredited by an Assessment and Accreditation Agency (approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country to assess, accredit or assure quality and standards of educational institutions)



2. A 2-year Master’s degree, with the same conditions as in point 1

Candidates need to have also completed

1. A 4-year Bachelor’s degree with Research with a minimum CGPA of 7.50 on the UGC-10 point scale, or an equivalent grade

Or

1. A 4-year Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Technology / Design / Architecture with a minimum CGPA of 7.50 on the UGC-10 point scale, or an equivalent grade

Candidates who have completed M.Phil. coursework with minimum 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade 'B' in the UGC 10-point scale, will also be eligible for the program. This could also be an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed or an equivalent degree from a Foreign Institution accredited by an Assessment and Accreditation Agency (approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country to assess, accredit or assure quality and standards of educational institutions).

Other criteria:

1. A candidate whose M.Phil. dissertation has been evaluated and recommended for award of the degree, may be admitted to the Ph.D. Program on a provisional basis even before the viva-voice or final defense


2. The relaxation of the eligibility criteria for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently Abled, Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and other categories of candidates shall be as per the directives of the UGC/State Government

Any amendments in the eligibility criteria notified by UGC/Statutory bodies from time to time shall be applicable and notified by the University
